Do
Not Be Ashamed or Undignified
Psalm 74:20-21 “Look upon your creation,
for the earth is full of darkness, full of the haunts of violence. Let not the
oppressed turn away ashamed, but let the poor and needy praise your name”. God
is ever present and available to the poor and needy people of the world. When
we experience hardships or other forms of encounters, when we are ravished with
doubts and trepidations, we must turn to God and say “I will lift my eyes to
the hills”. When we are surrounded by darkness, trials, temptations and
tribulations – in faith we must be assured that the saving grace and love of
God will lead us, guide us, and guard us from evil. Consider the violence and
fear of discriminatory laws for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender
people around the world, our families, friend and allies, the homophobia in our
religious communities, families and societies, the fear of death and rejection.
I say that God is looking on his creation and ask that we too look to him just
as we are.
For our faith in God we would experience
the haunts of violence and in so doing we will receive grace, power and
authority over the oppressors’. Therefore
let not the oppressed people turn away ashamed or undignified.
