About Rev Rowland Jide Macaulay

Rev Rowland Jide Macaulay was ordained clergy in 1998, now serving with the Metropolitan Community Churches as the Pastor of a new church, which began September 2006 in Lagos Nigeria, called House Of Rainbow MCC.Profile

A Nigerian born in London UK, he is openly gay, a Christian theologian, a poet, self-published author, an educator in business and Christian education. Rev Jide Macaulay holds a Law degree and a Master degree in Theology.Rev Jide Macaulay with a rich history recounts his religious practice as a young person was under the shadow of a faith interpretation that marginalized, judged, and infuriated him. Now his knowledge of Christian theology are both academic and personal experience, which allowed him to conclude after wild and long journeys to find God as a gay man, that God loves all of God's children, heterosexuals, homosexuals and non-sexual. With this conviction he now share in the lifting of the pain, struggles, the celebration of joy and hope of many lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people. Now having lived in London for over twenty years, Rev Jide Macaulay in the last five years gave serious thoughts to returning to Lagos Nigeria, a city and country he loves so much. Not just for its buzzing towns, villages, cities, or beautiful beaches, but for the restitution of many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Christians and other marginalised groups.

His goal is to expand on the vision of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, a welcoming and affirming ministries, most welcoming for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, inclusion of all people and a ministry proud of its global justice mission. To create a safe space for fellowship, education, enlightenment and worship in Nigeria.

I can try to understand how a Rev. will consider himself gay. But what I would really like to know if this gayness is just about your physical attraction to men or if you currently engage in sexual relations with other men?

No need to be nasty to Rev Jide. God loves everyone and is using this man as a desciple to inform, tech and enlighten those who fear linking their sexuality with spirituality as apposed to indoctrination by those who are not willing to look at the broader picture...

Keep it up Jide'

Im with U all the way!!!

Homosexuals are homosexual, just like left handed people are left handed and white, black, brown, yellow peope are born to their ethnic group. I grew up in a tiny Canadian village in nowhere. We had no word for 'gay', nobody talked about it, nobody lured me... i just was gay. To be anything else would be a lie. To marry a lovely girl just to pass or to appear normal would be to exploit her. I think God or nature depending on your beliefs made me this way. Why? Because it helps.

What a shame on the devil and on his last day agent in the person of Jide Macauly. For you to have introduced yourself on the ITV tonight as a Nigerian in the first place is a lie, it's shameful and erroneous (you were born in the UK) and so you are British, and I cannot understand why you have to quote your root when you were defending gays and lesbians quoting scriptures that you dont even have a clue of.
The worst of it was that you were trying to equate been black with been a gay or lesbian, your parents should be ashamed of you.I think you would have to write your own bible to be able to justify your views. I pray that you will encounter God shortly, because you are openly on your way to hell. Repent Son!!!

I dont know about the annointing you have; I dont know what message you teach your followers but one thing I am sure of is that you are sick and need psychiatric assistance. However you may think you thrive because church leaders today have failed and created room for you and your type because instead of encouraging Christ, they cajole people to release money for their selfish ambitions.

Rowland I commend your honesty and bravery for standing by what you believe in and proclaiming it on the mountains. Do not mind the people criticising you, many of them are so gullible that they believe that the bible was inspired by any other individual than historians of the days gone past.

All i have to say is read levicticus 18:22. It clearly explains the bible hates homosexuality

I know that God loves everybody including homosexuals and we're all sinners before God in need of His mercy but what I don't understand is the need to celebrate homosexuality. There are many sins in the bible such as fornication, lying and adultery but nobody sees the need to celebrate fornication or any other sin. Why the need to celebrate homosexuality? I personally think it is wrong based on biblical teachings but I know nobody is perfect before God and Jesus came to die for the whole world as long as we repent and believe in Him. We all can believe in God but there's no need to celebrate any sin particularly homosexuality.
